Lulu has moved from fashion and friends in glam Mumbai to global London. The blog takes on everyday living, museums, cafe's, cosmopolitan friends, currently infrequent weekend pub visits, shopping and calorie counts. If I understand British Humour which is slowly making its way into my brain cells through my cold ears, I promise to share.

Magazine Wonderland

Harpers Bazaar April 1965
Model: Jean Shrimpton
Photographer: Richard Avedon, Guest Editor celebrating 20 years at Harpers Bazaar

Ah well, No fashion history class today. But some time browsing through 50's harpers. It wonderful how magazines reflect culture, art and lifestyle. We just think of them as things to browse and flip through. Central Saint Martins, has the best college library in the world in it's collection of fashion history book with a sprinkling of Proust. Apart from F.I.T in New York I think. Also Karl Lagerfeld, has the best collection of magazines in the world that he houses in his chateau in France.

The National Art Library, by the way, is fantastic resource for books and manuscripts on art, culture and fashion. It is located at the V&A museum and is open to all.

I wouldn't mind a morning lazing and wondering about the existential purpose of magazines.
